Hi all, I'm looking for a romantic getaway for me and husband -we have decided on a few days away without the children:- first time in twenty years !!.
We would love a site with beautiful scenery near a lake/loch/sea with local pubs nearby (if possible) but location is the most important.(We want to sit in the quiet under the stars and relax) Anywhere in UK . I would really appreciate any ideas.Kind regards Rach x

Woodhill park possibly? I wouldn't describe the site as romantic but see my gallery for a picture of the views. There is a mound at one end of the campsite you can sit on and watch the sun set over the sea. There'll be good night skies, norfok is good for that generally with low light pollution. We didn't walk to any pubs but pretty sure there are some. Right on coastal path too and if wanting a longer walk can walk into Cromer and I think sheringham too.

Horagabost, West Coast of Harris.

BEST LOCATION IN THE UK, No fear of contradiction.
Meals at Scarista House and Rodel hotel for drinkies.

But schhhh.. Its a secret, don't tell anyone else.

Invercaimbe camp site at Arisaig on the coast in the Highlands. The site goes right onto the beach, peace and quiet, stunning views and fantastic sunsets. Look in my blog archives from June 2013 for the post 'beaches for some of the photos I took while there.

I was also going to mention Arisaig but a longer walk for a pub..but the views and sunsets to die for from most sites in the area
