As we start to look to book our family trips this year (or some of us have probably already got it sorted!), I thought I'd get everyone thinking about the best sites they've ever visited.
So if you could only visit one site again, which would it be, and why?

Our favourite site so far has been Beech Estate Eco Camp in Sussex. All pitches are in wooded enclosures so there's plenty of privacy. The wardens are super helpful, campfires are encouraged, it's set in acres of woodland so good for walks, you can walk to 2 or 3 pubs, it's only an hour's drive from London, they don't allow amplified music and there's very little traffic noise.
So good that we are returning for the August bank holiday weekend :-).
------------- 2019 trips booked so far:
Easter - Red Shoot, New Forest
May - Secret Campsite, Sussex
Delftse hout in delft holland
Smallish site with everything you need
Very quiet and 10 minutes walk into delft centre
We are returning in may and really can't wait
------------- April Peak District Beech Croft Farm
May Peak District Duke of York
May Holland Delfse Hout
June Cotton Arms Nantwich
july/aug Cornwall Pentewan Sands
And quite a few local weekenders
If I told you I would have to shoot you because everyone will want to go there!
However...my 3 favourite sites are Toms Field near Swanage in Dorset, Bridge House at Lechlade on Thames in Gloucestershire, and the Ship and Anchor Marina at Ford near Arundel in West Sussex.
But if I could only visit one again it would be.......[damn, the inks run out!]

For location its got to be Calpemar, Calpe, Spain. Just across road from seafront with lots of great retaurants. Stones throw to town and choice of lots of supermarkets within an easy walk.
Although site is small compared to lots of other sites in Spain its got everything you need including bar/restaurant, swimming pool etc and the longer you stay the cheaper it gets. We stay for the 90 day rate which is excellent value.

No EHU; campfires allowed; tents only; sandy beach and lots of rock pools; a burn nearby where you can tickle trout for your supper; fabulous scenery; woodland and much more strenuous walks; fantastic wildlife. The kids' playground is all around you - if parents bother to find out the knowledge to make the world something other than TV, DVDs, video games. Taken my son and some of his friends there - his friends' parents and teachers were surprised at the difference one short trip into a different environment made. For the good, I might add!

Its not one site but the small sites we camped on in the Lake district in the early 1970,s. Usually only one toilet and one cold water tap. Couldnt do it now but we were young then.

Mannix Point in South East Ireland. The site is on a headland so many of the pitches are on the shore, there's a brilliant campers kitchen, sitting room and big dining room. Impromptu music from the campers using a selection of provided instruments. All the attractions of County Kerry including The MacGillycuddy's Reeks, a vast mountain range. Warm seas because the Gulf Stream clips the coast right on that part of the coast.
Westermill Farm, Exford, Exmoor. First went in the 1970's and have been returning regularly ever since. Beautiful farm site in a valley at the end of the road. The river Exe trickles through the site, it's peaceful,(apart from the birds and farm animals) campfires are allowed in one field. A small shop is available on site and the facilities are good. Plenty to do in the area and also on the site waymarked walks or just watching the wildlife.
