Hi, and apologies if this post repeated but I cant find my original so perhaps made an error.

Has anyone taken there dogs to the Hillhead campsite and were they able to take the dog on public transport/boats etc. Im guessing the evening entertainment doesnt include four paws ?

We are going for the bank holiday with family and young children and Spud! Just ensuring everyone will be happy. We are in a motorhome so restricted and would like to go on the boat trips etc with all the family

Thank you

I've been to Hillhead with a dog.

The dog walking area is good up there, the dogs can go into the conservatory area at the entertainment complex and you can still hear the entertainment.

I haven't personally used the public transport in the area so can't comment on that.

Hill head that's in Brixham!

Went on the ferry over to Dartmouth from Kingswear, however having children they wanted to do it the interesting way. We went over on the car ferry. It fits about 4 cars and it is a floating road with a barrier at the end. Would think dogs could go on this.

Did use the very expensive steam train but I would think not dogs. They would probably charge adult price! Please do check as I may be wrong.

Hillhead is dog friendly.I go to Totnes CC site and Hillhead regularly. The Company that run the ferry, steam train and bus circular tour allow dogs free of charge in my experience with two Terriers. Stagecoach run the local buses and charge £1.00 per dog for a day ticket....a Rover Rover.
Pubs down here usually have treats on the bar and out of courtesy in a new pub I always stand in the doorway and obtain consent by signalling to the staff.
Thinking quickly the only pub I have been refused is the one on the beach at Slapton.

Just to make sure I don't cause offence to those that don't know, the two pubs in Slapton village away from the coast welcome dogs and are very friendly.

Dogs are more or less compulsory on Caravan Club sites.. Almost everybody has at least one dog and sometimes as many as three or four. You will like it.

Took our 2 dogs on the water trip around Kingsmear, the steam train and ferry from Dartmouth, no problem. But we did use park and ride to Brixham, and on the return journey the locals tutted alot about the dogs, even though they were pushed under the seat out of their way, not a pleasant ride.
