we are looking to go to northumberland in October for the first time with our Touring caravan we would like to go to Holy Island Alnwick castle etc also durham is there anywhere you can recommend for a family with a dog that has good facilities and is really clean

another vote for Springfield farm we were there last year excellent facilities clean well looked after with large pitches perfectly placed for the places you listed to visit

Ord House at Berwick is very good and not far from Alnwick Castle and Bamburgh but it is a long way from Durham, about 90 miles.
You may be better spending a couple of nights in the Durham area on your way to or from north Northumberland.
Maybe better staying up near Holy Island then leave when you want to go to Durham, taking A1, theres a lovely campsite just off this road when you take exit for Durham. Other than that, stay half way, Morpeth area maybe. Then u can travel to both areas. Both Holy Island/Bamborough and Durham Cathedral are a must when you are in the North East
