Hi, hope this is in the correct section. We (2 adults and 2 kids) are wanting a week away in August and we thought we would go to Northumberland as none of us had ever been there before.
I was looking at Waren Caravan & Camping Park site and saw some of the reviews, looks nice, but everyone said it was expensive. It is a little more than other sites, but then when looking at the tariffs they want another £88 if your tent is bigger than 17m2. Ours is an Outewll Montana, so the best I can get it to is around 20.
2 questions, has anyone been there and paid the suracharge, and what is another good site around the Bamburgh area? I just think £45 a night is a bit much??
Sorry for the long post guys!
Chris

If you don't need a clubhouse or swimming pool then check out the C & CC sites at Beadnell and Embleton. Both are fairly close to Bamburg. The Beadnell site is just opposite the beach though it can get very windy.
We were at Budle Bay last year and had a look at a few sites in the area for this year. Springhill was top of our list, but then I discovered Annstead Farm. We'll be there this summer.
We found too many rules and attitude at Warren mill when we had the tent. Told us we would have to move after pitching if they didn't like the look of how we had pitched !! Moved the car by about 6 inches one night, I said our friends car was black -it was dark blue- the ticking off I got was not worth going back for,we are divers and a group of three or four, they said they were full when our friends wanted to book at the same time, there were plenty of pitches free. And it was expensive. We used Springhill previously but couldn't get booked in. Its handy for Seahouses and the Farnes. So needed to find another site. Got a gem near Craster and now use it for the caravan and no problem if our friends want to join us with their tents. Procters Stead. Lovely site. Close to a pub, Craster, just great

Beautiful area, just come back from South Meadows. Nice clean site, no club but plenty of space for children to play on ball field. Village walking distance plus farm shop next door. Easy drive to beach, Bamburgh and other attractions.
------------- I went to the top of the mountain...and looked over the other side!
11th - 20th August for us so must be same time. We will be in our Outwell Nevada M and have a 12 year old boy who will be dressed in camo (he always is)
Beautiful unspoilt area of the country, we always stop at Proctors Stead which is around a mile from Dunstan Hill. There is no club house etc but a short walk to the village and there is dog friendly, food serving real ale pub.
