Hi all

Can anyone recommend anywhere where I can stop off on our way to bridport, last year we stopped at the Sedgemoor service station m5 south. This was OK however, twenty plus quid for nothing to be honest. We just need to pull in , sleep and crack on .

Any ideas ???

Thanks .....

Motorway services are all the same. Expensive, noisy and smelly. You would be far better off pulling off the motorway and stay on a site. Might not be any cheaper but a lot nicer.

Thinking of where Sedgemoor services are I would think it will only be another hour to Bridport.

There are quite a few caravan club cl's near junc 22 if you are a member

I asked same question some years ago as we travel down to Cornwall every year, used to do it in one go starting at .500am on a Sunday. Someone suggested Ashe Farm Caravan & campsite (sorry admin don't know how to do link) it's just off junction 25 Taunton turn off. A nice site we now stop on way to Cornwall and have a couple of days here on way back.

Never been there, but some reviews of recently opened Gloucester Services suggests they may be refreshingly different.

Yes, forgot about these services but they are further north than the area the OP seemed to want.

When we went down to Cornwall last month we drove down late evening but came off the M5 and did the A303 for this very reason. We stopped at http://cartgatelodgecafe.co.uk/
Free parking for as long as you want, loo's open all night, cafe open until 10pm and then opens again at 6 am we felt quite safe we arrived at 11:30pm and left at 7:30 am after breakfast with a fairly decent nights sleep.

We are at Withy Water CS now, a great site with facilities about 3 miles from J22 of the M5.
