I am the coach of an U13 rugby team. As the boys have been very successful this year through hard training and good discipline, we would like to organise a reward for them and their families and decided on a camping trip.

We are looking for a location were we would possibly be the only occupants, so the boys can let off steam without disturbing any other campers having a group of 13 year olds having fun. We only require basic facilities a field with toilets, water etc.

We will require up to 20 pitches on the 9th and 10th September 2016.

Does anyone know of any sites that would be able to accommodate us preferably in the Yorkshire/Lincolnshire region?

Try talking to the local Scouts to see whether they have something suitable.

Try looking for a rally field, a lot of the coastal sites in North Yorkshire have them, we once stayed on the Cayton Tourist Park rally field as part of a caravan rally, but they do accept tents also, and use it as their overflow site during peak season.

I stayed at Baysbrown Campsite in the Lake District last week, not that far from Yorkshire. There were quite a few youth groups through the place in the space of a week, I have to say they were all great kids, mannerly and cheery hellos etc. Baysbrown is spread over several fields with plenty of room. Some were scout, some where school groups, some were D of E.

It seemed that many campsites in the LD were youth group friendly, most advertising that they accept D of E groups.

Also, Hooks House Farm in the North Yorkshire National Park have a lower field that was set up for a youth group when I was there. I don't know if they a school group or what but they had set up a dining marquee and had portaloos for the kids in that field. They set up the tents around the outside leaving room in the middle.

Loads of campsites in Derbyshire are well equipped for youth groups as there are tons of D of E expeditions around here. Try Knotlow Farm at Flagg or Lower Greenfield Farm at Alport - both smallish sites divided into separate fields, I've had very successful D of E trips to both. The manager at LG Farm is particularly welcoming and accommodating. I've also heard good things about Fieldhead at Edale, though I haven't stayed there myself. You could also try Upper Booth near Edale, which is a small site so you could potentially book it all just for your group.

Thank you for all the replies, some good options to try next time. It looks like we have found a site Brow House Farm, Goathland. It's a shame most sites say NO as soon as you say a Rugby Team. But I think 13 year old lads with their families shouldn't cause too much hassle. Thanks again
