Hi
Is there anyone out there can tell me if the B6265 from Ripon through Pateley Bridge to Grassington is OK for caravans I've been told there are some very steep banks on this road. Or does anyone know a better road coming from the northeast down A1m to Grassington
Cheers

Yep, give it a miss Dumplings if your pulling a van.
Taking the long way round via A59 & the Skipton Golf Club roundabout turning (the other end of the B6265) is the way in to Grassington for you.
I agree with the above. I went along there a few years ago but in the opposite direction and there are a few steep inclines and bends. My brake drums started overheating at one point and I had to stop for a while at the bottom of one of the hills to let them cool down. I certainly wouldn't go that way towing a van.

Rang Yorkshire friend with van and agree with both posts above - it's a no. He only has a small caravan and a great big Nissan to pull it but, heading the opposite direction from you, he got stuck behind another van on a steep climb after a bridge.
