I know this may seem strange in this Wi-Fi mad world, but we would like to find sites that do NOT have Wi-Fi, we have a person with electrosensitivity in the group, which means they get very ill around Wi-Fi and mobile phone masts....over the last 2 years I have noticed practically all of the big sites are installing the Wi-Max (park wide Wi-Fi) and it is getting more difficult to find somewhere where he does not feel ill....any sites you come across that don't have Wi-Fi and are not installing it, please let me know. Next time you ask for Wi-Fi please give a thought for the growing amount of people going down with this condition (approx 5/10% of european popluation)

Think this is rapidly becoming a rarity, along with sites with no electric hook-ups!
No doubt they exist and good luck finding them.
I suspect they will have correspondingly poor facilities, along the lines of the proverbial farmers field with a dripping tap shared with livestock!
The smaller caravan club sites (farmer fields) tend to have NO Wi-Fi, but we have kids and would like some facilities!!! I think its a shame that people cannot leave the digital world just for a short while..i see so many families buried in their phones and not communicating :(
Even the most basic sites will have a computer in their office so many of them will allow campers wifi access around the reception. Usually though these sites do not have wifi access on pitches though because they are just using a domestic setup with the signal barely reaching beyond the reception.
Even if the site does not offer wifi to it's customers it will no doubt have a password protected wifi signal around it's reception area so really you cannot get away from it.
So best bet is to use campsites that only offer wifi at the reception & not on the pitches.

You don't say if there are any kids in your group but there isn't then Felin Uchaf adults only CS in North Wales would probably be suitable for you. It's a very quiet and peaceful site, with no tv reception unless you have satellite, very intermittent phone signal depending on network, and definitely no wifi. I'm going there myself next weekend and can't wait to get away from it all

I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
Might be a bit far, but Kielder campsite has no phone signal (they have a public phone for emergencies) and
Wifi is only available in reception.
(Take your midge repellent in good weather!)
I think the clue is that the first post isn't an introduction but a wacky post.
There was a character in 'Breaking Bad' with 'electro-sensitivity', but in reality it was a mental condition. I don't think any human body will detect, let alone be sensitive to, the tiny amounts of electro-magnetic waves generated by Wifi. What does this person do to cope with natural radiation?

I suppose it's serious to those that believe it. I recall there were warnings about excessive mobile phone use while held to one's ear, particularly for kids because they have thinner skulls & it was adivsed that phones should be used hands free away from the skull as much as possible.
Same with mobile phone masts & complaints about them being sited near houses & so on. This was all a few yrs ago. Not much about it nowadays perhaps because now mobile signals have been around long enough to have been proved harmless. Sensitivity to wifi is a new one on me though.
With nearly every UK home being connected to the internet via a Router then its going to be very difficult not to be in the vicinty of WIFI where ever you are.
Radio signals are all around and pass through us 24/7 They are transmitted from 0mhz right upto microwaves and beyond so any RF from the internet is a drop in the ocean.
We have a wifi or mifi unit in our caravan which we use when on a non wifi site so even though the site may not have wifi, many people will have a wifi unit working in their caravan even if it is just the phone.
As above - I have a "mifi" device which creates a local wifi system off the mobile phone network. I have been known to use it when I can't get wifi - albeit since my wife stopped working "from home" and needing web access all the time its been sitting in a box unused as a week off electronics is quite pleasant!
However what that means is that realistically you'd need to find either a site that you can have exclusive access off that doesn't offer wifi, or somewhere that doesn't have mobile reception.
