Hey there,
I'm looking to host a private camping rally in the area & need your help.
Site must have EHU, on the coast, pub would be good but not essential.
Has to be cleaned spacious, good facilities.
Thanks in advance folks.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Glenearly at Dalbeattie is nowhere near the coast, however, and has no views of it either. Solway View at Ross Bay near Kirkcudbright is great but nowhere near a bar. I'd recommend Sandyhills Bay but the field where groups go didn't have EHUs last time I was there (bar is up the hill in the small chalet park). The site at Kippford (near Dalbeattie) is walking distance from the sea and the Anchor Inn, but I've never been aware of rallies there. There's a very good quiet community run site at Port William that may suit. Any of these sites might be able to advise if you contact them, however: there are good local business networks.
We left the Port William site yesterday very reluctantly, we loved it. The local pub looks nothing but the food its very friendly and the food is good.
Know the area very well, but not the site. (The excellent Forestry Commission site beside Loch Trool closed years ago, sadly.) Miles from the coast that you said you wanted to be near. Try ticking the Rallies box in the UKCS Search - that symbol doesn't show on the Glentrool site.
Funny you should ask that, it's where we came to from Port William!
It's a lovely site. Spacious, toilets and showers very good, laundry, free Wi-Fi (my husband can get on but I can't). About 30 minutes walk to Glentrool visitor centre, mainly off road, lovely pub (where I am at the moment for the wifi signal!) With excellent food. Highly recommended.
