We are a Dutch family who love to travel to England. For 20 years we have camped, but due to health issues we had to give it up. A couple of times we have stayed in a cottage in the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales. This was absolutely great! But now we are looking for holiday parks with some facilities for our kids of 13 and 16 years old. They would like to meet some other teenagers. We are looking for small holiday parks with cottages/bungalows. Is there such a thing in England? Thank you for your reactions!

The Search on UKCS allows you to tick the box for Statics (big caravans) and that would direct you to campsites with Statics to hire, there'll be sites with a Clubhouse that has things for your youngsters to do. Plenty of Chalet parks up here in Scotland so I'm sure they'll be in England too. Usually always timber-built, sometimes (but not always) on a campsite. Try the Forest Holidays website, the holiday arm of the Forestry Commission. Some hotel chains do Self-Catering lodges in the grounds (more robustly built, better furnished, you can use the hotel facilities like their pool), again I know of ones in Scotland (in Aviemore, for example and Crieff Hydro in Perthshire has a great selection) so they'll be in England too. Cost-wise, statics are cheapest, the hotel lodges are the most expensive.

2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

Dear Fiona,
Thank you so much for your kind reply. I have looked at the Forest site, very nice but so very expensive!
These lodges are just what we are looking for. In England but also Scotland is on our wish list. Thank you once again! Regards, Melanie (Annigje)

Hi,
Perhaps you might find a place on one of these sites.
Best wishes,

Thank you all for your reactions! Haven and Park Dean holidays offer very large parks, we are looking for smaller parks.
The wigwam is nice, but not much comfort.

I know we have a lot of wishes

Have a look at Hoseasons. They have some nice lodges and a variety of different size parks. We have always found them to be good quality.

Woolacombe Sands is a smallish site with variety of accommodation to choose from and one of the best UK beaches within walking distance.
Don't discount Parkdean, we stayed in a lovely lodge at Warmwell, one of the smaller parks.
We've just returned from a glamping pod booked through Airbnb, complete with a private bathroom and boating lake so may be worth a look.
