Don't come on UKCS all that often so this may have been covered. Hoburne Bashley and Cotswolds will no longer be taking tourers after this year. Such a shame, particularly for those that like out of season caravanning and those with young families/teenagers. Statics have won over again.

Touring Announcement for Hoburne Bashley and Hoburne Cotswold
We have been reviewing our touring operation at both Hoburne Bashley and Hoburne Cotswold following a continued decline in demand over a number of years.

We have been aware of the number of complaints we have received about our leisure facilities not being large enough to cope with peak demand, that our pitches are too small for the modern tourer and awnings, and that the toilet and shower blocks are below standard. We are also aware that the park road infrastructure becomes congested with tourer movements, especially given that caravans have tended to increase in size.

After reviewing addressing these issues, the costs are not viable given the income we receive from touring and it is with regret that we have decided to stop touring at the end of this year.

We appreciate that the decision will come as a disappointment to our customers that have used the park over many years and we would like to thank you for your continued support.

We want to retain our exisitng customers and are offering assistance to purchase a static caravan on park, with static caravan prices starting from £15,995. We have also introduced finance offers and are taking touring caravans in part exchange, our Sales Team on park will be happy to discuss the various options we have available.

I wouldn't be too worried, there are plenty of nice tourer sites near to both of these.

We liked Bashley however their Cotswold site was well below par....

If you like an indoor pool and can travel try Whitemead Forest Park in the Forest of Dean. All the good points without much of the bad. Great facilities, great pool, takes tourers and tents. They are investing in their tourer area over this winter to make more gravel pitches as they are open for much of the year

We've been to Whitemead a few times and it is a nice site, we're CSMA members as well.

Funny how the name "Hoburne" brings back childhood memories from the 1950's. The original site was called Hoburne Farm Campsite at Christchurch situated on the road between Christchurch and Highcliffe.As a child I stayed there several times with my sister and brother in my mum and dad's Eccles Alert. The site entrance was from the main road immediately opposite the turning down the old road to Friars Cliff and Mudeford. Last time I looked the entrance was through the housing estate from the new round about. Nowadays it is a "Static" van site only.
Immediately opposite the site was the DE Havilland aircraft factory which had its own runway and where jet engine planes were made. Apart from the daily noise of engine testing there were planes taking off regularly and flying low over the campsite.Great for young kids to watch. My brother and I used to hire bikes from the site and cycle along the main road in to Highcliffe to the cliff top putting green. Wouldn't dare to cycle along that road now. Happy days!!!

Passed the Cotswold one today and the touring fields have been dug up and concrete bases laid ready for statics. Such a shame, really liked this site.

Absolutely gutted that the touring has gone at Bashley. Hope they can sell their 'holiday lodges' that range from £99,000 to £200,000!
