Hi All,

Has any one camped at Easewell Farm Woolacombe on one of their all weather pitches?

I would be interested to hear your comments as we have a pitch reserved for 2017 and are a little concerned to be camping on the all weather pitches as they seem to vary from site to site.

Thank you

Have you checked the reviews in case anyone mentions this type of pitch? If no-one has commented on them, it usually means they have nothing negative to say, and it's a fair bet that they're ok.
And pitches can vary even on one site - sunny or not, a shortcut going across or not, noisy by a road or quiet farther away etc....

Good suggestion, Fiona!

Just had a glance through about half the reviews (here) and in four instances the reviewer would have preferred a grass pitch.

Easewell Farm Campsite in Mortehoe was our favourite site in the South West when it was in the hands of Hans Ellis and his family 20 years or so ago. Following his untimely death the site was snapped up by local conglomerate Woolacombe Bay Group. Trying to retain the pleasant atmosphere of the site was compromised by the development of the hardstandings packed in to accommodate as many vans as possible. Many of the pitches appear now to be static tourers left on site throughout the year. When we are in Mortehoe we now use North Morte Farm site next door but they only have about 30 tourer pitches. Easewell pitches are a bit regimented but there is plenty of grassed area nearby for the kids to play. We often walk through the site for old times sake and whilst it is not our cup of tea in our later years it is still an excellent family site. Plenty of play space for the kids, a small indoor pool but a decent golf course as part of the site for dad to enjoy. The WB group have a double decker bus service down to Woolacombe visiting their other three sites on the way down to pick up. As regards pitch size I would estimate pitches to be maximum 12 metres square maximum.
I don't think you can beat pitching a van on grass but when it is down to accommodating as many caravans as possible without cutting up the grass in bad weather hardstandings are the answer and sites have therefore to be a bit regimentated.
