Ty Mawr a CS near Ellesmere, Shropshire is a lovely little site where you can watch the narrow boats going past from the van. Lovely part of Shropshire.

Tudor farm near Slimbridge. Separated from the canal by a hedge but right next door. You will be woken on Sunday morning by the Coxs shouting.
Lots of narrow boats moored there, and a boat station with supplies and café, nice pub doing good food. You can hire boats there.
Fishing in the canal, open all year and take dogs.
Hi Navver,
The Tudor is a nice site.I haven't been there for a while.
I have been told by quite a few people the boat chandlers/cafe is now closed.
Regards,
Greg

there is a really nice one at Llangollen behind the eistedfford building, but if you van is anything over 7m long forget it! you literally go over the canal bridge and turn 90 degrees left and your on the site, however its very very tight and will ground out, we had to unhitch our van and manhandle it to get it in and coming out was even worse! first time I have seen under the van while sat in the car!
Just found it, "Penddol Caravan Park" - Looks very promising. There is only one historical post that mentions this site and it had no responses; its not even listed on here as a site - is this a little-known hidden gem

It's a long time since we stayed at Penddol, but I remember it as a good site; small, but had clean, small toiletblock then. Close to Llangollen and some nice walks.
Yes I would second Tudor Park at Slimbridge, great facilities, nice walks along the canal and the Wetlands is a very short drive along the road well worth a visit. Nice pub at the entrance, doing nice meals, think we paid £22 per night last June. Not far from J13 M5.
