Moving from Devon to Argyll Scotland soon.
Not used the caravan for a couple of years so not a member of either CC or C & C Clubs.
Sites for both clubs seem quite sparse compared to England, is there a better one to join? Or not bother?
We do intend to travel a lot in the next 12 months, mainly around the Highlands.
Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I moved from Hampshire to Aberdeenshire 10 years ago. One of the best moves I ever made, so I wish you all the best.
Since you're moving to the West coast, buy loads of insect repellent and a good set of waterproofs.
There are hundreds of independent camp sites and holiday parks, so being in one of the clubs isn't really necessary. However... I've been a CC member for many years and I do find it useful in Scotland. There are I think 14 CC sites, a couple of affiliated sites and a number of CLs.
Can't speak for the other club.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Don't bother joining for a year, then decide which Club (or not at all) when you've seen where you enjoy going to and whether membership would make it cheaper. We are in C&CC as we used to tent, but we stay at far more Independant sites than Club ones. It's not supposed to happen, but few Certificated sites / locations ask to see your Club membership card and you can join there if needs be. There are far far more sites listed in UKCS than in the C&CC handbook.
