Hi I'm looking for an overnight stay somewhere close to the A66 I will be coming from A1 south going to Scotland and would like to stop a night somewhere along the A66 anyone have a recommendation? Don't need big a cl or cs either club as we are members of both.
Or private site.

The C&CC site at Barnard Castle is ok, about 10 minutes drive off the A66. There's a CC site nearby but as we're not members, we were turned away. I drive the A66 regularly to visit relatives and have noted there are several small sites in sight of the road itself - they'll be on the Site Search map with reviews.

HI RICK
RICHMOND HARGILL HOUSE C/C JUST OFF A66 AFTER SCOTCH CORNER WE HAVE USED IT A FEW TIMES VERY GOOD.
LOW MOOR PARK RIGHT OFF OF A66 HALF WAY BETWEEN S/CORNER AND PENRITH GOOD ASWELL.
THORPE PARK RIGHT BESIDE A66 AFTER C/C SITE THIS IS VERY GOOD ASWELL.
WE TRAVEL FROM NORFOLK TO SCOTLAND ALOT AND USE THESE AS STOP OVERS.
WE ARE OFF TO SCOTLAND IN APRIL FOR 2 MONTHS WE ARE STOPPING AT BOROUGHBRIDGE THEN UP TO LOCKERBIE BEFORE WE GO FUTHER NORTH. HAPPY HOLIDAYS....

We are going in April too found a site on A66 Cross Keys Farm,
Stopping one night then upto Sterling a site called Carrs Hill for two nights then a drive upto most northerly Inverewe gardens C&CC site

Glad you are sorted, often thought of carrs hill, we go to witches craig as it near my family. on our tour of the west we are at Inverewe Gardens from 25th May for 5 nights. That's a shame would have come over and said hello. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Hi Sharon you still can as we are going as assistant wardens from May 1st until September, my partners mum lives in Glasgow that's why we are stopping at Carrs Hill for a couple of nights. Rick & Jackie

Stayed at inverewe gardens a few years back , great drive stunning scenery, sunsets are amazing. Seen otters and eagles. Great site.
