Was considering a camp at Eskdale - one of my favourite sites but no longer club it seems. Not necessarily an issue but wondered what had happened. Anyone know?
Cheers!

Ravenglass is still there but not Eskdale.
Have a look at the Eskdale listing on UKCS here . Still looks OK, just wondered why it wasn't C&CC anymore. Probably because they can't take caravans...
Incidentally, I have a booking at Keswick in May. Just got an email from C&CC informing of disruption due to works to widen the access and create yet more hardstandings. I used to scoff at others who used to suggest it was becoming the club-formerly-known-as-the-C&CC-and-now-just-CC-and-we-don't-mean-camping-club. Now I'm not so sure. Anyway, the email was inviting me to cancel or change my booking to another site. Eskdale came to mind. Oh well.

Please note that as from the 2017 season this site is no longer managed or run by the Camping and Caravanning Club. The site remains open under independent management, and is accepting bookings as normal for the 2017 season.
I've been to the site a couple of times myself and really liked it. It was/is owned by the couple who manage(d) it under a C & CC franchise, they also owned the Ravenglass C & CC site which now seems to be run by a different couple, so maybe they've just decided to cut their ties with the C & CC and stay independent. The prices for this year seem to be fairly reasonable so the fact that it's no longer a C & CC site wouldn't put me off going again.

I think only parts of the C&CC website have been updated. Eskdale is not there on the regional site search, but it is there in the section that shows directions.
It's got me curious now. Must admit I have never been, but it does look good.
