Hi everyone, i have been thinking of getting a trailer to carry all of our camping kit in and was wondering if anybody has come accross any restrictions on the size of the trailer on your pitch.

Just an aside - you may be considering using the trailer for taking garden refuse or whatever rubbish to the Council rubbish dump.
My Council requires us to get a liscence and that liscence states the maximum length of trailer. May be worth checking to avoid frustration later - we get turned away if we arrive with a trailer that's too long.
Based on my experience, the trailer needs to fit within the boundary of the allocated pitch, along with the tent (or tents such as pup, utility etc...).
Some sites do not charge extra for the trailer, so do. Therefore, I always mention my trailer as part of my set up when making enquiries.

I check their charges. When I ring I let them know it is a small camping trailer. If they still charge I often consider going elsewhere - depends on the alternatives I have.

I've got a large 8x4 braked utility trailer which we use for camping along with log hauling and tip runs etc and we've never had an issue with it's size on various sites.
It's tempting to go small but we still easily fill the trailer with gear, so much so that I still have to put the roof box on the car.
The larger size means it's not just a camping trailer so I wouldn't go for a small one myself but obviously your choice.
