Lot of interest from people on here so you might like to know that there's a series coming up on BBC Alba:
North Coast 500 with Anne Lundon is on BBC Alba for the four weeks from Tuesday 16 May at 20:30.
BBC Alba often has Gaelic in their programmes but don't worry, there are English subtitles.

I missed the programme tonight and it's not on iPlayer yet, but hopefully it'll appear! The brief trailer looks good.
Tha mi duilich to Gaelic speakers on here - no insult intended!
For those of you who love Scotland, please check out BBC Alba - there are some really excellent programmes on this channel that can enhance your visits.

I thought I'd leave it and watch on iPlayer - blast, not there yet, but as you say, the trailer looks promising.
I see they filmed Inverness on a good day. The last time I was there, Flora Macdonald was wearing an Caledonian Thistle scarf! I'm not a fan of inverness - I think the centre is a bit run down.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Thank you so much for the heads up on this - can't wait to watch on iplayer at weekend. Going up to Scotland in three weeks time so it will be good to see some of the places we might be visiting.
If you go to the Planner and do a Search (blue button), I only had to type 'n' and 'o' for "North Coast 500" to pop up. Sky is saying the first episode's on 20th May with an option to record & series link.
Looking forward to it, thanks to Ficklejade for telling us about this.

It's up on iPlayer! There's quite a bit on the Bealach na Ba towards the latter part of the programme. There's a bit about the red phone box at Kishorn - now popular with selfie-takers; I remember my Dad using this to summon the AA went something went horribly with the car!
Can't say I was altogether impressed with either her or the motor homer's driving on the Bealach but she did pull over to let traffic behind her overtake. Think the cyclist's comments about the amount of traffic on the road with the route's popularity making it less safe is valid, but then I'm just an old curmudgeon who drives daily on single track roads!!!
Enjoy!

I watched it this morning - quite interesting, but I'm still not enthusiastic about Inverness. Has the red phone box at Kishorn taken over from the one in Pennan (Local Hero)? There are plenty of single track roads here with no tourists, but plenty of tractors!
Also interesting to see proof that there are midgies in September and they can make your life a misery.

Know what you mean about tractors in your part of the world. Don't think Kishorn has taken over, just another venue!!!
I wonder where she was parked up for the midgy bit - most of the campsites (if one chooses wisely) don't have that many in September. I suppose if it was filmed near Corrieshalloch or Loch Maree, there could be.
