We have given up on CC and C&CC sites as they are becoming very expensive. As we have our own facilities we are often paying for those we don't use. Showers/Wcs, Swimming Pool,Club House etc.
Does anybody know of any CLs(5 van sites) close to the coast which they can recommend,
Thank you,
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We do not mind if it is Adult only or not. Anywhere in the country will be fine. Have caravan, will travel. I just love the sea so within five miles if poss. Next to the sea even better.I'll compile a list of a few and plan our hols.
We like:
Norfolk..Cromer way
The South coast ..Devon, Dorset, Hampshire
West and Niorth Wales
The Lake District( I know, no sea, but lakes)
Northumberland
Haven't been to Scotland yet but again would like a CL.
Thank you.
Oh forgot we like the New Forest round Brockenhurst way( I know) theres no beach😊
If you are a member of the Caravan & Motorhome Club I can recommend 'The Meadows' CL, Bryncrug, near Tywyn. It's about 3 miles to the beach and car parking on the promenade is free of charge. The CL does have a shower and loo for use which are kept immaculate and cleaned daily by the site owners. The site has 8 reviews to date with a 10 star rating.
Auburn Farm at Fraisethorpe has 10 pitches next to the see and views across Bridlington Bay. About half an hour walk along the beach takes you into Bridlington.
I can highly recommend Woody Kiln at Herbrandtston near Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, We have just been there, nearest beach, Sandy Haven is a few minutes drive away, free parking. Plenty of other beaches within a few miles.
We're not CC / CAMC members, but I've noted in the past that there seems to be a large number of CLs (largely on farms, from memory) in the Rhins of Galloway - that's the peninsula (or is it an isthmus) at the far south west of Scotland, nearest town Stranraer. Views of the sea almost inevitable, access to the sea all around the coast from Loch Ryan through pretty Portpatrick harbour and Port Logan (where they filmed '2000 acres of sky') down to the Mull of Galloway and the huge beach at Sandhead. It's a very attractive area of lush grazing wilth a mild climate and very little traffic.
Once you've sampled Scotland, if you like it up here, there are bound to be more CLs around the west, east & north coasts.
If you like west Wales, how about Dinas Island, between Newport and Fishguard. The reviews are good and it is cheap. I haven't stayed there, but I have walked past it many times and the views are superb. It is a 5 minute walk from the beach and there is a pub there (The Old Sailors) that has good food.
La Casa near Cleethorpes. Used to be a CS but now site is member of the Freedom camping club
Nyth Robin near Aberdovey. Used to be a CL now privately owned.
