Well it's been years since I've been on here, I thought my days of camping were over, but no I now have acquired a caravan.

Suggest me somewhere in North Yorkshire, within driving distance of say 30 minutes of the coast, easy to get to, as I've never towed before, a village with a pub within walking distance is a must!

Cheers

Wendy

If you are going adult only we use the coachman in snainton, it is on the main road into Scarborough which is abut 9 miles away, the site is small only 12 pitches, village has 2 pubs, chip shop and a small spar shop

Caravan club site at west Ayton Scarborough. Cliff farm caravan site Pickering. This is a lovely little site. The latter has pub you could relatively easily walk to in sinnington, though not been. I have been to one in west Ayton. There's also st Helen's in the park on the a170 too inbetween these, there's a nice pub in walking distance there.   Getting to all these is easy towing, but you can't get there via Sutton bank obviously. Depends where you are, but I take the a64 then the a169 from the south west of these.

West Ayton near Scarborough is a nice site. The village is in walking distance with a good pub for food and a garage/shop. Short drive to Scarborough or similar coastal town. The site itself is nicely situated inland with good walks on the doorstep. We were there earlier this year and had a lovely time. Very helpful wardens and a friendly site. Quite a few CLs in the area if you think you'd prefer a smaller site.

hi, Bridlington caravan club site was very nice and near beach. Two pubs, café and chippy in walking distance. Close to attractions as well little train from Sowerby hall into Bridlington, not far to Filey and Scarbrough.
Easy to get too no narrow roads.

We stayed at the White Swan in Newton-on Rawcliffe (nr Pickering) earlier this year, which is a village pub with its own campsite. Easy drive from Pickering via A64 and A169, and equally easy drive or steam train ride on to Whitby.

Another little gem is also at Newton out of the village on way to States. Lovely road up to Goathland past Romania road.

Serenity campsite at Hinderwell has a walkable pub and chippy, spotless facilities (when I was there), no yahooing after 11pm and not too far from the coast.
