My Mother in Law has put spend a night camping on her 70 things to do when I turn 70 list. She lives in Cambridge so we were thinking somewhere Norfolk way as she loves Cromer and Sheringham. We have all the camping kit but need a relatively quiet site with toilets and showers that aren't a long walk from the camping field. Ideally a pub within walking distance, which for my Mother in Law is about half a mile max.
Any recommendations?

Deer's Mead near Erpingham is lovely but adults only if that suits your party?
There's a traditional pub the Alby something I think which is on the main road, but there's a path behind the site to walk to it less than half a mile I'd say.
I've been looking for another site in the area for next year and found the Green man Inn which has good reviews, but not as close for Cromer.
Another vote for Deers Mead excellent site, in fact we head back for our second visit in a few weeks time.
Toilets are right beside the tent section, so very handy.
The Alby Horse Shoes Inn is the closest but there is another pub down the lane that the site is on.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Have a look at The Old Brick Kilns it's on best of British sites. Nice and quiet with own lovely restaurant and bar, not rowdy. Its actuaully not that far from The Green Man, went there one evening for a meal.

Another quiet site is Reedham Ferry. Managed by the pub, the Ferry Inn, it sits next to the river Yare and the chain ferry. However it is probably closer to Great Yarmouth that the other two fabulous sites already mentioned.
I've just had my 3rd camp at Baconsthorpe and it's a very peaceful location near to Sheringham and Cromer. The largest field is near enough to the excellent facilities but quieter. The location is wonderful surrounded by fields it's v relaxing but still close to the towns. There's pubs close by and a very manageable scenic walk to Baconsthorpe castle.

Yes, Baconsfield ticks those boxes. Also, it is handy for both Cromer and Sheringham. The only thing missing is a pub but the little town of Holt is a 5-minute drive and has lots of places to eat and drink.
By the way, I have no connection with the site except as a satisfied customer.
If you haven't yet decided then how about Galley Hill at Blakeney?
It's a small site, basically just a field with pitches around the edge, some with EHU.
Blakeney is about 15 mins walk away and has 2 good pubs. Also at Blakeney is a bus stop for the Coasthopper bus which stops all along the coast from (I think) Cromer to Hunstanton.
