Briarfields motel & touring park is second to none.its inbetween Cheltenham & Gloucester Bus stop just outside park, pub (I think its a harvester) and shops in walking distance. site very clean. The owners Scott, Jo and family very helpful. phone no 01242 235324. also on U.K Campsite search
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I looked at Briarfields but ruled it out because it is next to a road and a really want peace and quiet. Not sure if it is a fast road or not so I'll have another look. The one at Caistor sounds interesting so thanks for that
Longnor Wood in the Peak District is well back from a very quiet road. About a mile from the village of Longnor with 2 pubs, cafe, shop and chippie. An easy walk but one of the pubs runs a free taxi service to get you back to the site. Very quiet peaceful site the times we stayed there.

I have looked at Wheathill before and the thing that put me off straight away is that they allow people to leave their dogs in their caravans etc. whilst they go off out. I can just imagine dogs barking their heads off and that's not really very peaceful so I ruled that one out.
I (and many others) can recommend Clover Fields Touring Park near Buxton, or Pot Haw Farm CS - you need to be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club for this one - at Coniston Cold, near Skipton.
