Does anyone know if this site is still operating? apparently it has been up for sale. Not the type of site we really like, but would not be for more than 3 nights.
I have answered my own question, it's on Google Street View, can see the touring area on the satellite view and it looks ok, good location, facilities not important.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Still open Mrs B, was there last month for a look. Actually looked better than the reviews on here give it.
Plus for us was it is close to Lanark town.
For 3 nights midweek it could be worth considering.
Have you looked at the Green Frog site in Moffat? That would tick all the boxes you want, fuel, shops, just off the M74, great town and plenty to do around the area. £10 a night very hard to beat.
I drive past regularly. The road looks down onto it. Fine if you're not staying on the site much because it never seems to be a sunny spot - it's at the bottom of a narrow wooded valley.
Moffat isn't nearly as close to Lanark as the other sites you've been considering. The site at Biggar is up for sale too, but it's still up & running as far as I know.
I see there's going to be an exhibition about The Great Tapestry of Scotland at the Falls of Cyde visitor centre when you'll be there next summer.
I saw the whole exhibition (it has its own website & app, so you can scan the Q code for extra information), it's stunning, each of the hundreds of panels was woven by volunteers & celebrates the Scottish diaspora all over the world, from Malawi to NZ to Chile.
One other thing I've remembered, Lanark Lanimers is 6-12th June. Massed pipes & drums, Common Riding etc. Lanimer Day parade is Thu 7 June. It's a great event, but it may mean very close sites are busy & many shops will be shut.
