There is often posters wanting recommendations for sites in and around London. Need to recommend Southside at Upminster. It is a CL with hook up for £12 a night. Stayed there 3 times now and love it. It's perfect if ur travelling from north as just inside m25. Tube station in Upminster takes u straight into London. Just a gem of a site.

Current C&CC mag has a letter from someone who drove their MH into the London Low Emission Zone, two days running. He hadn't paid the daily charge of £100 per day so he was fined £500 per day, total £1K.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Does show the importance of reading the internet before you drive. The LEZ is hardly a secret so no point in the motorhomer crying foul. I guess some folk do spend their lives only watching soaps & sport on tv while realpolitik passes them by.
Well as someone who sometimes drives Heritage buses into London I am well aware of the LEZ. However, I must admit that I didn't realise it covered motorhomes. I thought it was only commercial vehicles?
I think some folk can’t be bothered with attention to detail. I was chatting to a caravanner who tours in France & Germany & mentioned the emission stickers required in some cities in both countries. He just smiled & shrugged. No idea & not interested.
You can in fact tour around both countries & not require the stickers at all but you do need the knowledge of where they are needed or don’t complain about the fine if you drive into a city centre where they are needed. The signs are clear enough if you understand what they are.
