Hi there, I am keen to visit Caernarfon in May and am looking for recommendations for a site in the area.
Love the look of Riverside camping, but it is already busy as we have left it a bit late and would need to go during may half term.
We like quiet sites, no pubs or entertainment necessary. Kids playground is nice but not mandatory... within 10miles of Caernarfon but would travel further if it was a great site! Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Yes I have, thanks. But there really is nothing that is taking my fancy and I like a “personal” recommendation. Lots of sites look like they have big statics and mainly caravans which puts me off.
Bryn Gloch looks ok, but quite big and lots of statics, something is putting me off...anyone been, reviews sound ok?
How about Snowdonia parc. Its a small site. No statics. Its at a pub but is seperate. (The pub is child friendly.) The best part is that the steam train has a station right at it. The kids all get excited when they hear and see the train coming!
You'll have to decide for your self about the loo block. It really is only just over a bridge in the next field to the main campsite and whilst being basic, I have seen worse.

Hi, I've mentioned it before in other posts, but we like Coed Helen for it's proximity to Caernarfon. Its on the hill looking over the castle, very peaceful at night. A 5/10 min walk down the hill into town. Pub on site nice enough, play field for the kids. Only thing that does let it down are the toilet facilities, it's not 5*, but it's clean and functional.
Great, thanks guys, will check these out! I did have half an eye on Aberafon but the access put me off... not that we are towing so it should be fine! Looks lovely!

For just a car Aberafon access is fine. There's a big rock by the gate which makes it awkward for caravans as you must go through straight. I got in OK but wasn't happy about getting out on a wet road and steep hill.
The site owner has a 4x4 and will tow them in and out
