Does anyone know if this campsite is still functioning, as we have tried to book a pitch by phoning, emailing & on-line booking with no success?
Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
There are 2 sites, one is now lodges only, the other on Glendoe Road has reviews on UKCS from late last year & the website looks active.
No more recent knowledge of the site though, sorry.
I know (because I saw them!)they were working on Cumberlands site back in February. I know some people who know Reay - they're away at the moment but might be able to catch them at the weekend. We were due to stay there at the beginning of May for an event which has now been cancelled.

Looking at the website. I think this site is closed. We stayed in 2016 and it was very quiet then. This was in July. Apperantley the pub closed shortly after. I suggest you book at Loch Ness shores CCS .

I goggled & Cumberlands came up as being for sale. However, there are plenty of sites for sale - but they're still operating, it doesn't mean this site is closed necessarily.
Hi,
If you want to stay in that area and they are not available I can recommend Loch Ness Shores C&CC site
on the other side of Loch Ness following the B682 road
from Fort Augustus.Great site. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=13776
CollMac, I must apologise. Friend was admitted to hospital Thursday night and I had to take over her husband's duties over the weekend so I didn't get a chance to find out about the site.
If it's not urgent, I can change my route home from Craigellachie a week on Sunday and call in as I pass the entrance en route. It'll make about half an hour difference on journey time and thankfully with summer ferries I'm not under time pressures.

Hi,
If you are unable to get there Jade, I seem to remember last October there was a tourist information office at Fort Augustus and the lady was very switched on regarding local campsites.
Perhaps Collmac could give them a call.
Regards,
Greg
Cumberlands Camp Site is shut until June - no date given. There's a lot of building work going on at the entrance and I wasn't able to find anyone to ask.
