Have a look at Liverpool Marina not a proper campsite but they allow overnight stays. Not sure if you can prebook though

The Arrowebrook farm certificated site is quite handy for M53 Jn 2 Moreton Spur & 3 Arrowe Park,(but not close enough to be noisy) to get to the Wallasey tunnel and into Liverpool.

Use Wirral country park. You can get the train from nearby West Kirby into the centre of Liverpool in 20 minutes. You won't want to be taking a car into Liverpool on the day of the marathon.
