Hi all. New to the site, my father is thinking of buying a touring caravan, he's 72 years old and has a Jack Russell as his companion. Now this may be a lot to ask but the type of site he would be interested in is a seasonal pitch and also storage on site as he doesn't feel comfortable towing, also a hardstanding pitch which all his toilet waste is disposed of, obviously if dogs are allowed, maybe a little shop on site for essentials,. The main thing he's a keen fisherman so possibly fishing on site or even a river which runs by. Probably an impossible task. Area wise looking at mid wales, shropshire, somerset and Devon. I think if all these were possible it would be the icing on the cake and something for him to enjoy in life. Many Thanks Stuart.

Have you looked on the search facility.
You will not get a pitch that allows direct disposal of toilet waste.

Thanks for the reply. When it says get waste on websites what does that mean is it for one and not the other

it means that it will have a dirty water, so kitchen sink and shower point, emptying the toilet still needs to be took to the correct point which is usually elsewhere on the site, this wouldn't be too much of a problem for your dad seeing as there is only him and would only need doing once every 3-4 days

As to emptying a toilet - surely he might like to use the 'normal' toilets on site and only use his for night time to reduce visits for emptying toilet thingy (sorry I am a camper not a caravanner).

That is precisely what we do, and for the same reason. Mind you, we don't spend a great deal of time on the site when we are away. We like to get out and about and explore.

When necessary I use a folding trolley to carry our toilet tank for emptying. I couldn't carry it far with my back.
