Do you want a site with just storage and the campsite, or do you want them to tow it out for you?
What facilities do you want? Price varies a lot.
I know a few people giving up pitches because the rent on the site has increased.
Site with no entertainment, basic facilities. £900 for a pitch or £550 for storage + £19.50 a night.
If you have a pitch they want you to stay a minimum of 21 nights.
Stay and store means different things to different people.
To me, it means staying on a site for the weekend (the stay) then leaving it on the pitch unattended Sunday to Thursday (the store) so we can return the following weekend - saves the trouble of towing the van back & forth between visits.
I have a list of sites within a couple of hours drive & we do this three or four times a year, staying for three or four consecutive weekends at a time. Usually owners only allow stay & store in the quiet seasons but one site I know allows us to S&S in August; we’ve been visiting the site for the last ten years now & it is one of our favourites.
Some sites charge nothing for the store as it means guaranteed income for the additional weekends & some charge a nominal fee which I am happy to pay. Some sites charge more and others charge full pitch fee, so we avoid these which is their loss cos the pitch would likely be vacant during the week anyway.
Cockerspadgers - I haven't heard of that, it sounds a good deal. I can't imagine any site in the South allowing a caravan to be left unattended for a nominal fee, I think you'd have to pay for a seasonal pitch which here is about £2000 per year. That's why store and pitch is a good idea as it works out about half the cost of a seasonal.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
One of the few advantages of living up north Homebird 😂
It’s an arrangement that works well for us as we both still work & it maximises our use of the van for weekend breaks.
We’ve just had 3 consecutive weekends at a fantastic site for £120, storage in between visits was free and if we had wanted to do S&S for a month (4 weekends) it would have been £150. In previous years we had stayed at a site who upped their ‘store charge’ so much that to visit for three weekends would have cost us an extra £75. Passing the same site in the car we noticed many empty spaces .... their loss.
A site we are planning to visit do a S&S offer for ten days stay within a month with storage in between visits for £150.
If anyone knows any sites in the north that offer a S&S facility I’d be grateful of the name of the site to add it to my list.
I know our site where we have a seasonal pitch offer store and stay. They tow the caravan onto a pitch when you have booked, you have to pay a storage fee, then nightly fees , but not sure if it is the standard fee.
Site is Vale of Pickering.
I know they have a waiting list for seasonal, and last year store and stay was full, but not sure for this year s&s.
