I may have to work for about 6 months in the Dorset area. It will be Mon-Fri but i was thinking instead of a hotel to take my caravan and either bring the family down some weekends or leave it empty.
I wouldn't be working from the caravan but using it as living space on the days i'm down there.
Has anyone done this before & are there any sites in this area that would allow it?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
You will not find it easy to find a site that will let you live in your caravan for more than 28 days in a row. Even seasonal pitches as a rule won't let you stay for a set number of consecutive nights. Where in Dorset are you thinking about?
I will be working in Poole. Just for clarity i won't be living in it 28 days in a row, i would like to base it there & i would probably be in it 3-5 nights a week.
If you there 4 nights a week you not going to hit 28 days.
I used to travel around the uk stay on cs, cl sites and never had a problem.
Used to do 14 days then come home, and go back after 4 days.
Van always stayed there on site.
Cant see a problem, just do a search and good luck.
I haven't found any sites in the South where you can leave your caravan on site unattended unless you pay for a seasonal pitch. A cheaper option is to "store and pitch" where the van is kept in storage until you need it and most sites will put it on the pitch ready for you. We have ours at The Inside Park, Blandford Forum.
