Hi there, please can anyone tell me about there experience of Billing Aquadrome Northamptonshire it was recommended to us by friends,so we have booked a week later this month but I have seen some awful reviews and have been speaking to other people on caravan groups and they are all saying similar things the facilities are really unclean and a lot of the activities have shut and it's not how it used to be I am quite new to touring so apart from the New Forest , Sandyballs holiday village which is very clean and has activities for the children ,my husband is recovering from a heart attack and I don't want him getting more stress because it is dirty I have also read the reviews on Tripadvisor and they are the same so can those of you that have been or know anyone that has please can you let me know about the conditions why I still have time to rearrange for my daughter who is really disappointed she is 15 so entertainment and activities are important so is hygiene I was told to come on this site as a lot of you are regular holiday people and I would get a better answer from you as you always sharing advice and suggestions with each other Thank you. Jennie....

I’d cancel. We went there a couple of years ago and it’s truly awful. It’s more akin to a travellers site then a campsite. Dump your van anywhere, and people do! People driving round the site far too fast to let your children safely play out.
We’ve been caravnning for about 6 years and it’s the worst site we’ve stayed at.
Sorry to sound blunt but I’d rather save you the misery of staying there and know you’ll find something better. Anything would be better!

Have you tried Whitemead Forest Park in the Forest of Dean? That’s lovely and far more likely to be a site you’ll enjoy. Lovely walks, nice site, lots of activities and an indoor pool which they don’t charge extra to use.
We used to go regular in the days when it was owned by the Mackaness family and had some good times there. But in the years since sold has gone downhill, plus gipsy camp up the road and things dissapear.

It was absolutely disgusting needless to say we never stayed there for very long at all ,The facilities were absolutely rotten how they have not been visited by the environmental health is beyond me,The only thing I can be grateful for is that we got a full refund as there was an issue with a particular staff member called Dona talk about rude she disconnected my friends electric just because she was boiling a kettle on a table outside and said she was using to much electric after she left we plugged it back in and she returned and tried saying that she was using the extra lead to power my caravan and it was obvious that I was plugged in to my own supply we were starting to get a bit annoyed by this point so we said that she was obviously harrissing us as she wasn’t about the people smoking cannabis and she even threatened a 6 year old boy who has ADHD with security and she would ruin his holiday who she thought she was if there was an issue with the child she should of spoken to us adults not upset a child and my 15 year old daughter was wittiness to this and explained everything. I would never go back there again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone else oh and I also have pictures of the rats around the bins it was awful even though we did a refund I wish they had just let us cancel like we asked for but were told they are not allowed, when confronted about the drug issue and pictures of toilets and rats they soon offered us our money back.
Sorry you had to experience it but like us, i doubt if you will ever go again. When privately owned by the Mackaness family it was a good place for us to go out of work Friday night and have some good weekends there. Why a large group who now own it has let it go is beyond belief.
We camped back in 2015 for two long weekends as a family of 4 with 2 young children. Couldn't complain about our stay from what I remember. We stayed right at the back of the site next to the canal which was well out of the way. This is a very big site so in busy periods I can imagine it would only take a minority to ruin a weekend for everyone else.
