I know sites up here that don't fix the pitch fees untl January or just before they re-open at Easter.
But I'm surprised some are fully booked already down south, especially for tent pitches - popular Lake District waterside caravan sites yes: people book the next stay when they're leaving. It may just be that booking isn't open yet & the system defaults to saying the site's full.
