"Please note we have some brilliant new developments happening this winter, including (shhhh coming soon!) some very exciting new accommodation options! In order to make our Park truly brilliant we do of course need to build it all.
This means there will be machinery on Park, some roadworks and some noise located to the rear of the Park on the Tenting and Touring Field."
Guess that means they are "developing" the Tenting and Touring field!

"As from the 2nd November 2018 our touring fields are being re-developed. We're forever grateful to all our customers that keep on returning to us, we're sad it's going too but also really excited for the new development and the future of Sandy Balls. We really hope you'll still join us and perhaps experience one of our beautiful lodges"

I may be wrong but I was under the impression that Sandy Balls only had hard standings anyway and that if you booked with a tent you had to put it on a hard standing. In any case, Sandy Balls has always been a very expensive campsite so I don't think it will be any great loss to campers. There are loads of other campsites in and around the New Forest.
I was speaking generally Bob. It's been creeping in over the last few years and some sites I used to stay at (at a reasonable price) are now no longer available (or else I have to pay for a pod which is too expensive for one person). I had looked at Sandy Balls a few years back when meeting up with friends down south and didn't fancy it.

I have certainly been priced out of a lot of sites I have previously been to and there are a few areas now that I just don't visit any more for that reason.
One site I regularly visited in Swanage gave up accepting campers years ago and concentrated on statics although I found another decent site in the area.
Its a growing trend around here, have lost Bashley, Forest edge,Hoburne cotswold, Rockley Park Poole. Devon cliffs Exmouth and seemingly Sandy balls in recent times, all moving over to upmarket lodges and statics, no loss for many on here no doubt, but those of us who like something to entertain the family at times with pools, clubs restaurants etc will miss
having the option to stay for a weekend.
Whitecliff bays touring area on the isle o wight was tiny compared to previous visits last Easter with the statics encroaching further into the camping section so that will no doubt be lost forever to seeing they are now owned by the same company as Sandy Balls,
