TripAdvisor gives the Brown Cow 4.5 stars out of 5. Can't see a menu, but judging by the reviews, the food seems to be standard pub grub. Cask ale. Dogs allowed on a lead. Only mention of a TV was it being in a small room upstairs.
One reviewer staying on the Club site recommended pitching as far away as possible in the summer when the beer garden is noisy until late.
The Village Hotel, Bury has several screens, one massive according to my husband, which show Sky Sports. It's about 20 mins drive away from Burrs, though - no good if you were lookin for stumbling distance!
There is another pub within short walking distance to Burrs, it’s called the Garsdale, but not sure if it has sky sports. Rayners Bar in Bury town centre has lots of tv screens showing Sky Sports and even has a roof top beer terrace/garden with large TVs. Also the Knowsley in Bury town centre has multiple tv screens.
I guess Bury town centre is a 30 minutes walk from the site, and I am sure there is a taxi firm advertised in the sites information room that will take you either way for less than £5.00.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Also Burrs now has its own railway platform as part of the East Lancashire Railway. Trains into Rawtenstall and Bury. Not sure if they run a service midweek at this time of the year during the week. Also a discount on fares for people staying on the caravan park.
