Check Brighouse Bay in SW Scotland near Kirkcudbright, by a good beach and ready access to forest walks, great for dog, lots to do.
We tend to avoid sites with any entertainment at all, but I’d say other likely places were the east coast at St Andrews, Dunbar down to Berwick.
One of our favourite sites is the immaculate Woodlands at Carnoustie, has a small games room & a park next door for the dog, beach a short walk away.
