Is on Sand Lane, near Warton, Lancashire. The directions from the M6 state to get on the slip road form J35 and turn towards Carnforth and then to Warton. Does anyone who knows the area tell me why we can't turn north on the A6 and then left to Warton?

You probably can, but the roads are very narrow.

Best to stick to the sites directions, but the traffic lights in the centre of Carnforth are not staggered, so it can take ages to turn right onto Kellet Road to Warton Road.

We leave the M6 at J35, but go all the way round the roundabout, (basically coming back south), turn right at the junction and go across the A6, at the lights, onto Kellet Road, which leads onto Warton road.

I can’t help with the route (my husband is from Carnforth so I’ll ask him) but can recommend Carnforth station as interesting, being the film location for Brief Encounter. They do a very good lunch in the cafe too, which still looks pretty much the same.

He says you wouldn’t want to turn right on the A6 and then left to Warton as you’d have to go through the village and it’s narrow roads.

Been there Norma, but not eaten. We have stayed at Laverick Hall twice but fancied somewhere different this time, 3 nights en route to Ireland.
