We currently stay on a campsite between Looe and Polperro. We love this site. Big pitches, toilet block with showers, small shop and a play park for the grandchildren. We don’t need a club house or anything like that. We are looking for the same sort of site in the area of Padstow. Any ideas??

Is 9 miles from Padstow too far? If that's OK then a good place for children is Trewan Hall - 36 acres of woodland, gardens and playing space, things on site to amuse younger children but maybe not for teenagers, very informal layout, small swimming pool, small shop, family owned and managed. Reviews and details are on here .

Gunvenna is good, near Wadebridge but not far from Padstow. Stayed years ago and was reasonably priced.

Trewince between Wadebridge and Padstow has some really large pitches. Outdoor pool and nice play park for the kids.

Edit - a bit far off from Padstow though!

I second Trevedra - lovely site. There's no play park but the beach is a short walk down the cliff and it's a working farm and the farmer happily took my daughter round to see all the cows up close and personal who he knew all by name etc and she loves the resident half wild farm cats.

Food is amazing in the cafe and the shop sold lots of gluten free stuff and the best bacon I've ever had - (we took loads home for the freezer).

Landsend is not too far off and you can see the weekly fireworks from there and tonnes of amazing places to visit not too far away by car.

It can be a bit windy mind you and you normally need to book quite a bit in advance not to go to the overflow site some way off. My daughter loves it there.

Wynnster Eagle 6 tent also but never used as too big for most sites we've been too and were too happy with our other tent.

Plus a SunnCamp Breton 500 Deluxe for shorter camping trips which we bought at the end of 2019 but have yet to use it due to lockdown!

If you don't require an all singing all dancing site. Then you could try Higher Trevaskis Caravan Park, Hayle just off the A30 with easy access to the site no narrow roads/lanes.

Its not close to Padstow or in the area your mention but worth a look if you don't want or need clubs or entertainment.
