Hi, I am looking for a campsite for the May Whit school holiday week next year. It will be for 2 adults, 2 boys aged 13 & 11 and we have a large tent so need a large pitch (Vango Illusion TC 800XL - highly recommended!).
We are interested in East Devon or Dorset (live in Norwich so Cornwall that bit too far!) but open to suggestions. Also the Lake District but can't find a central site with a pool - ?
We normally camp in our lovely Norfolk plus France in the summer hols.
Something like Kelling Heath would be perfect!
Would like sea/lake/river views, definitely be able to walk to a good pub & to a nice village/small town.
Boys need stuff to do - pool, campsite shop, table tennis, footie field, biking, plus fishing would be great. Not too fussed about campsite evening entertainment. Nice showers of course! Like campsites with different areas, not lots of regimented lines.
And needs to be close to things to get out & about to do. Would be happy to do some cycling to get around.
Thanks everyone!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
You mention East Devon and there are certainly plenty of activities for your boys at River Dart Country Park, though it doesn't meet all your other preferences.
Take a look at Cofton holiday park.
Indoor pool and outdoor pool
20 min walk through woodland to dawlish Warren.

Have a look at Wood Farm Charmouth Dorset. On Jurassic Cooast. Walkable into Charmouth for Pubs, Beach, coffee shop, shops. Nr Lyme Regis. Site is hilly so no bikes on site but fishing, indoor swimming pool, dog walk, huge play area, tennis court, games room inc table football.
