Hi all looking for campsites next year along the grand union canal going to kayak the length for charities.
Can anyone help or offer me advice on sites/pitches.
regards.

Why do you want to go into campsites, I live near to the Grand Union where it passes through Fradley Junction and from what I can see there is plenty of opportunity to wild camp either next to the tow path or over the hedge in one of the fields.
If you wait until just before dark before pitching and leave earlyish in the morning, nobody will know you have been there.

kings orchard marina, huddlesford, lichfield, lovely caretakers, superb site with excellent facilities.
No tents though, apparently (link to site listing), so unlikely to be of use to the OP unless they have a support team with caravan or motorhome (or the site owners could be persuaded to make an exception for a charity event?)

Sorry but Fradley Junction isn't on the Grand Union!
The GU goes from London to Birmingham, via Warwick and Knowle and is a wide canal. You are on the junction of the narrow Birmingham & Fazeley Canal and the Coventry Canal.
To the OP,
If you use the Site Search map facility here you can follow the route of the GU and that will show you camp sites near it.
Fascinating! Let us know how you get on with your kayak trip. Which direction are you planning to go in?
I am in the early stages of planning to walk from Paddington to Birmingham along the canal - probably next year, but I will allocate one day a week to do this over however many weeks it takes me. However, since I live not too far from the canal, I won't be over-nighting.
------------- Freedom is a light caravan and an open road.

You are quiet correct and I should have known better, Its a walk I do almost every week with my pooch, It is of course the Trent and Mersey.
This link will be a good place to start your search, you can then select your requirements and move the map pointer along the canal to show sites that suit
Wigrams Canalside Certified Site is at the junction of the Grand Union and Oxford canals not far from Napton on the Hill. My family liked it. Its alongside the GU Canal, as the name suggests. There's a Kings Head pub within walkable distance.
