Hi husband & I + 1 small dog are looking at Dunbar for 6 nights in May. Touring caravan.   Looking at Belhaven & Dunbar Camping & Caravan site. We like decent facilities & a dog walk. Anyone stayed at either & any preference?   We don’t like huge commercial sites.

Check prices, if that's a factor - we found the Belhaven site was much more expensive than the Dunbar C&CC site. It's why we return to the Dunbar site rather than the Belhaven one.
They're both close to the beach - a short walk down a very quiet road at Dunbar, straight onto the "John Muir Way" from Belhaven which would take you right across Scotland if you followed it westward.
Dunbar has a small securely fenced off area for dog walks, great for first & last comfort breaks. Belhaven does not - but it's not far to walk off site to the beach. Just be aware that there are rabbits in the dunes - we nearly lost our dog when she disappeared down a rabbit hole; and she swam after the ducks in the pond at Belhaven. Not a problem if your dog has no prey drive.
Views from your pitch at Dunbar, Belhaven has no views out.
Belhaven is more commercial, it's part of a chalet park. Dunbar is just a terraced site out in the country.
Nothing to split them particularly re washroom facilities since Belhaven was upgraded recently. More hard pitches at Dunbar, more grass at Belhaven, last time I compared the two sites.
If it's windy, Dunbar cops it, whereas Belhaven is sheltered.
You'd need to check the reviews for children's play areas - I don't take much notice of them unless they're still noisy at 11 pm.
I suggest you read the first page of reviews for both sites and take notice of the factors that are important to you & ignore the ones that aren't. Then check the prices - 3 nights at Dunbar for the price of 2 at Belhaven, but time of year affects site fees and cost might not be a deal breaker.

2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

Although Dunbar C&CC site is one our favourite C&CC sites we haven't been since 2016. Our last visit in July of that year and sadly the behaviour of other people on site put us off ... noisy, walking through pitches, leaving the facilities in a dreadful state. For East Lothian Yellowcraigs CAMC site and the Brand Leisure CL at East Fortune are much better but may not suit you geographically.

There is a CL near Dunbar, West Miekle Pinkerton farm, easy access from the A1, but no loos or showers. We liked it.
