Hi thanks for replies , but leaving leeds at 10 am hoping to be in area 3 pm , could leave later but vans on a storage site and given last years debacle where we were rerouted from Plymouth to Portsmouth , I’d sooner Edge me bets 🙄

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
i used to live in Oakdale, poole, lovely place to grow up in the 80s but to my knowledge theres no where that close to the ferry terminal that wouldnt involve a seriously early start to get to the ferry terminal for 8am. you would probably be better off stating in the chack in area than taking a stroll, over the lifting bridge to the Quay for a meal in one of the restaurants or a beer in one of the many Pubs.
ringwood, st leonards and Warham are still quite a distance to travel in the morning. we stay at rivebella in oustreham before getting the 8.30 ferry back from france and you could walk the distance to the ferry but its still a trauma for me to get moving in the morning even without disconnecting the caravan form the car.
maybe theres a campsite at Rockleysands? which is a few mils from the ferry terminal?
poole is a seriously sprawling Urban place with nowhere a campsite could be situated.
