Hi. Looking for a small (around 10 pitches), tents only in North Wales. Basic facilities, rural is ideal. Would love recommendations please!

This area crops up quite regularly. Try searching the messages, as well as a campsite search, I'm sure there'll be lots of suggestions there as well.

Presumably a CS or CL would fit the bill?

Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC or CMC) Certificated Locations (CLs), Camping and Caravanning Club (C&CC) Certified Sites (CSs), small indepently owned sites, supposed to be for 5 caravans/motorhomes (CLs), and the same + tents (CSs), they don't all have loos or showers, so use the filters to find these. We always try to use them for preference. You do need to be a club member, in practice you may not be asked for proof of membership, but don't bank on that.

I note you're looking for a tents only site, so I think I should point out that, that as Mrs. Bonce says, both CLs and CSs can take up to five caravans or motorhomes (and as far as I know CAMC CLs don't take tents at all). So you could be sharing a site with a few caravans/motorhomes or yours might be the only unit on site!

Anyway, try Camp Site Search using the filters and hopefully you'll find somewhere suitable.

Is there any particular reason for restricting your search to tents only?

Our favourite site in North Wales is Merthyr Farm campsite near Harlech. Search for it on here and look at the photos and you'll see why. You will share the site with touring caravans but not statics.

I wanted a tent only site because in my experience, they are usually quieter. I have a disabled daughter who loves camping but hates noise!!
