Just had an email from the club saying that whilst they are keeping sites open they will only allow 50% occupancy and all facility blocks will be closed.

If facility blocks are closed, are they going to refund every tent camper who has paid their membership fee?
I gave up on the CCC some years back, but my friend is about to pay his membership and he's currently minus the electricity with about two weeks to wait for re-connection. At least he has a landline, so I could let him know.

A forum friend from the Orkneys has reported a number of campervans arriving from the mainland. They apparently told a shopkeeper that they were in escape from the virus. The shopkeeper criticised them for possibly bringing the virus with them to their community, where medical care can be an issue.
So despite the temptation to go away into isolation in the 'van, maybe it's better not to.

The BBC app’s Highlands & Islands section says:
“People have been urged to stop travelling to the Highlands in a bid to avoid the coronavirus.
It follows reports of people with second homes or those with campervans travelling to the area in recent days.
The issue has prompted Scotland's finance secretary, who is also a Highlands MSP, to tell people to stay away.
Kate Forbes said people should not make the Highlands their "means of self-isolation". “
There aren’t that many C&CC sites up here so they’re normally well booked up by members who don’t use independent sites.
Please don’t anyone reply in capital letters - none of us likes being shouted at.
The reason not to use block capitals for emails and other correspondence is that it is very difficult for the dyslexic to read and you may not know whether the recipient of your missive has that problem or not.
In the scheme of things I think correspondence in block capitals is considered almost bad manners.

What has capitals got to do with shouting, no one is shouting as you cant hear anyone from this site you only type your answers.
I often use cap letters when emailing why not.

Just as people in conversation may raise their voice to emphasise a point, on social media and forums etc they use capitalisation of text for the same reason. Since shouting at people is considered bad manners the same has come to apply to using capitalisation in text.
The use of bold type for emphasis and the use of italics for differentiation is considered acceptable.

Yes it had to happen really. They must be reading forums like this and seeing that people are still intending to come, even if their facilities are closed.
Both Clubs probably felt that they had little choice but to close, as it was the only way to stop people travelling with their caravans, campers and motorhomes, spreading the virus far and wide. Or of course they could have been told to close.
Closing was the only responsible thing to do anyway, as people were clearly going to ignore the advice and travel unnecessarily.
No they are not 'that bad' so certainly consider joining; in fact they are both really good and responsible putting the well being of members and the NHS before club income.
Both clubs are great and offer a wide variety of sites so that when this virus is beaten you will be able to travel safely far and wide.
