Although this might not be a top priority for most people at the moment, I just wondered if any one who has paid fees for their seasonal touring caravan pitch has been promised any refunds or credits in the light of the current situation with the Coronal Virus? Our site had to close this week, just days after we had paid our final balance. The open season for touring caravans was not due to start until 1st April. We were offered a full refund of the balance if we removed our caravan ASAP, but of course would have forfeited our (hefty) deposit and didn't want to risk breaking the travel restriction rules by travelling to collect the caravan. Hopefully, we will be able to use our caravan later in the year, good health permitting, should the situation improve.
Whilst site owners were instructed to close by the government, likewise caravan owners were instructed not to travel by the government. I appreciate that site owners need to maintain their income, but if the lock down continues for several months, it seems unfair that it's the caravan owners who should have to shoulder the full loss whilst the site owners keep their full fees. It will be interesting to see how the legalities of this develop over the coming months.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Perhaps if the site is shut for Corona virus for, say 3 months, you could ask if those 3 months be added to the end of your contract. However many months or weeks the site is shut for.
Or they could do this but then charge you for caravan storage for those months.
Seems fair to both of you ...but then I'm a tent camper
We are in that situation too. I will wait and see what happens. Our site owners are decent folks so I can't see them wanting to upset their seasonal customers.

Your caravan is on there pitch, I see it as quite reasonable to charge you. If your caravan is in storage you still got to pay and I have 2 in storage!!!. Good luck and stay safe.
We have been offered a 20% refund with only 40% of the season remaining. My van has been in separate storage so hasn't even been on site. This means we are being asked to pay 65% of the cost of the period our van hasn't been on site? Seems to be a very small refund. Any thoughts?
Hello,
Our site owners are offering 40% of 17 weeks, but this has been granted by the Welsh Government. The four very wealthy owners aren’t contributing and even refunding us half of the money we have paid.
Therefore they haven’t lost a penny whereas we are. They aren’t even offering a reduction next year.
I’d like to know if anyone else has received a full refund of the closed weeks.
And could you tell me where your site is please?

Our site is one of four owned by the same man. The other three are mobile home sites. He will not talk direct to his customers, everything through the warden who knows nothing.
It very frustrating. Every other business I spend money with from the Bank down to Aldi has sent out regular e-mail updates to its customers. This bloke seems to think he is exempt from normal customer service standards!
