Interesting discussion. I started it for the benefit of a friend who runs a campsite in rural Scotland. I intend to return when he says he's open and I'll feel very safe
He had 50 pitches but tends to advertise 20 hard standings only for motorhomes. This could be August if allowed. He suggests a reduced fee for a hard stance with electric. Guaranteed large space ( other pitch) between units. Rural walks begin from his site including dog walks. Chemical toilet waste facility open, water points all open, laundry open, shower toilet block closed 2020 season. Book before arrival or pay contactless. Warden on duty Depends on the sensible caravanning public to self isolate, why wouldn't he, hand sanitisers and waste bins provided. Own responsibility regarding food provisions etc. Free wifi
He hopes tourism labels will be introduced - a kite mark to say he's a good operator. Extended stay, pay by BACS at site. He also suggests rough camping could be prohibited and Police will ask rough campers to book to campsites only.
I wouldn't have an issue staying here. Scenery is fab and a very quiet site. Established business. He commented, covid grant assistance is a mockery and not all it seems to be. Just wants some income for two months before opening 2021.
I'm intrigued why this is for motorhomes only, then in a later paragraph goes on to say "Depends on the sensible caravanning public to self isolate", so are caravans and campervans excluded? The majority of those also have on-board facilities.
Would be interested to know the reasoning behind that.

A slip of the tongue or typing finger, I expect. MHs and campervans are all “motor caravans” after all.
Ok, but the OP states specifically it would be for motorhomes only, therefore caravans are excluded? Just wondering what the reasoning is behind that; if it's in relation to the closed facilities block, then most caravans have on-board facilities too.
