Hi. I'm at the point now (or at least in more normal times) where the thought of hitching up the van on a Friday night to go away for the weekend to then sit in traffic no longer fills me with joy. Traffic has definitely got worse in the 15 years we've been caravanning. That said, we still enjoy it and fancy a bolt hole for the weekend. I'm tempted to try and get a seasonal pitch next year so we can hop on the motorbike after work on a Friday and get to the van where it's mostly all set up. The trick though is that our storage place will only accept a full year and most seasonal pitches are for a part season. We don't have the facility to store the van at home.
Can anyone recommend a site about 150 mile radius from Aylesbury where we can keep the van on s seasonal pitch spring to autumn, then store it for the winter. No facility sites preferred to keep the cost down.
Thanks in advance
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Most seasonal pitches will also offer winter storage where your van stays on the pitch. I have the seasonal for the same reasons as you, I can leave Friday after work and go to my van which is all set up with awning, beer fridge etc
Not near you, but we have one in Wales - 1hr 15mins on the bike.
We use it 100x more than we ever did when we toured - its our little place in the country.
Our site has winter storage too. They tow the seasonals off the pitch for the winter - something to do with National Park rules - and put them back on for the new season.
Ask them if leccie is included. Ours is, but other places are metered.
