Normally a family caravanner, but fancy nipping off on my own with the dogs with my pop-up tent,
Looking for somewhere basic and cheap with a bit of space.
Was looking maybe Yorkshire Dales, Moors, or coast somewhere to walk, any area within 90 mins or so of Mansfield?
Any recommendations folks?
Thanks Martin.

There's a campsite out at Hartington Derbyshire. I think it's called Barracks Farm. They are listed on here. It's very basic for tents. There are a few statics on site but the tent field is basic. There are some lovely walks around that area. Dovedale, Manifold trail etc.
We walked into the Village of Hartington from our campsite and we walked past this one.
Try Clarion campsite just above Otley, riverside walks and chevin country park. Walks direct from the site, great views over Wharfe valley. 10 miles to Harrogate, about 15 mins drive to Ilkley or Bolton Abbey. Pub with food and beer garden 100 yes, Otley has loads of dog friendly Cafes and pubs.

How Stean Gorge have a basic camp site. However, they're only allowing 10 tents at the moment and it gets booked up pretty quickly, so there might not be anything available for the date/s you want... It's worth knowing about for future trips though 😊
Very close to How Stean Gorge is Studfold campsite - I stayed in a pod there once and the countryside around it is beautiful. Don't know if it fits with the 'basic' idea though! https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=3420
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
