Hi, I've not been camping since 2018 and was desperate to get out this year but lockdown happened. Now that things are easing, lots of campsites are shut and I'm worried that the ones that are open are really busy and not much fun. I liked quiet sites where I could chill with my family and not have large groups next to us.
What have people noticed now that camping is possible again?

We went to a c&cc certificated campsite in Herefordshire and it was very quiet. They hadn't opened up the play areas yet so that might have kept some people away. The site owners had done everything they could to make it as safe as possible, one way system through the toilets and lots of hand sanitizer everywhere. We had a really nice break. I think it depends partly on where you go and how touristy it is.
Thank you. I struggled to find many c & c sites that take tents and are open here in Scotland. The other sites I tried seemed to be fully booked but I guess may have been closed.
Just returned from a week on a farm campsite in Herefordshire. It was very relaxed, loads of space and the toilets were open and cleaned regularly, as well as cleaning products readily available for campers to clean themselves.
The owner was on site the whole time and commented on how responsible campers were, for example accompanying children to the loo to clean after themselves, distancing etc.
We took our own loo and shower so didn't need to use the facilities and thanks to the great weather were able to use the solar shower.
The area (Welsh Borders, near Monmouth) didn't feel busy and places that were open were well organised.

hello
we have just had 5 nights on Dafarn Rhos campsite on Anglesey. it was mainly caravans and camper vans and every plot had an electric hook up and its own water tap. the showers and toilets were very clean and there was hand gel everywhere. It was more expensive than usual campsites but right on the beach and easy to walk to a pub. worth it.
I'm still being cautious about going away, but hopefully we'll get away in September. I was in Banff this morning and the links site was pretty full. There were also a considerable number of caravans and motorhomes on the road - more so than most times.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
