Hi, I want to go away in the next few weeks for a nice weekend in the Lakes, but don't want a windy campsite (in case the weather is bad), however, I want nice views ideally, even a lake nearby or to pitch up near would be nice.
Has anyone got any recommendations please?
Thank you

If you are in the CCC their Keswick site is right on the shore of Derwentwater and there are some lakeside pitches.

Coniston Park Coppice is a CAMC site midway along Coniston Water western side. Open to non-CAMC members I believe at £12/night premium.
It's terraced down the hillside with small groups of pitches nestled into the woodland. Probably hard pressed to find a more sheltered site from wind because of the well developed woodland setting, but the rain does tend to collect in the overhanging trees and rattle on the van roof on some pitches.
Depending on your fitness, fairly easy off road walking access to lake shore, local pub (there is short stretch walking on road), and Coniston town.
Because of the layout in the wood, it doesn't feel/look like a large campsite as you can't see most of the rest of the site from your pitch. Typical CAMC site, well kept, toilet/showers clean, wardens pleasant and helpful.

I second Coniston Park Coppice. Lovely walk into town too.
